Odoo Functional Consultant – Job Description

Role Overview

An Odoo Functional Consultant is responsible for understanding business requirements, configuring the Odoo ERP system, and ensuring that implemented solutions align with organizational processes. The role involves working closely with clients, stakeholders, and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze business processes and identify areas for improvement using Odoo
  • Gather and document functional requirements from clients or internal teams
  • Configure Odoo modules such as Sales, CRM, Inventory, Accounting, HR, etc.
  • Conduct gap analysis between business needs and Odoo capabilities
  • Provide functional solutions and recommend best practices
  • Prepare functional specifications for technical developers
  • Perform system testing (UAT) and ensure successful implementation
  • Train end-users and provide ongoing support
  • Assist in data migration and system upgrades
  • Troubleshoot functional issues and provide timely resolutions

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or related field
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems (experience with Odoo preferred)
  • Knowledge of business processes (finance, supply chain, sales, etc.)
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams

Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience with Odoo implementation projects
  • Familiarity with multiple Odoo modules
  • Basic understanding of SQL or technical concepts (not mandatory but helpful)
  • Experience in client handling or consulting roles
